Make your fundraising go
the extra mile

Here are some fundraising ideas to help you go the extra mile for people living with cerebral palsy.

Make the Most of your Fundraising Page

Your fundraising page has been created for you, now, all you need to do is make it your own!  Tell your story why you are challenging yourself to do The Extra Mile and add some photos of yourself.

Lead the Way

Show how important the challenge and the cause is to you by making the first donation to your fundraising page.  This will not only encourage others to donate, but will also give people a guide of how much they should donate.

Ask, Ask, Ask!

Start by reaching out to close friends, family and colleagues - yes we're talking about those competitive siblings of yours! Send a personal email, SMS or go old school and give them a call to ask them for support (I'm sure it won't hurt to remind them of all that free babysitting you've done over the years)

Once you've got your nearest and dearest on board, cast your net a little wider. Social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and Linkedin are among the most visited websites, so no wonder this is one of the most successful ways to fundraise today.

Share a link to your Extra Mile fundraising page on all your social media posts, ask your friends to also like and share your posts about The Extra Mile.

Use one of The Extra Mile social media tiles from the Fundraising Resources.

Email Signature

Update your email signature with The Extra Mile email signature we've provided on the Resources page and link it to your fundraising page.

The Ultimate Networker

Reach out to your cycling group or gym to organise a 1 day cycling challenge with prizes.  Your challenge could be tag team cycling for 12 hours in the gym or on the road!   Post on social media and ask for support.

Will your Company Match You

We know you are doing an awesome challenge but make sure your company knows. Many companies support employees fundraising efforts through dollar matching programs.  If they don't have this program, they may want to support you with a donation - don't forget to ask!

Be different

Instead of charging your friends to wax your legs make a bet how long you can go without waxing/shaving your legs!

The Most Important Part

Saying thank you goes a long way. Text, email or post on social media and tag your donors to show how much you appreciate their support.

People often Forget

Don't be scared to send follow up messages or emails.  People often think they'll do things later on and they forget.  Keep people updated with your progress, this will also act as a reminder to those that have forgotten.
